The oil sweeper is made up of absorbent mats formed into bolster shapes and mounted at intervals to make a fence structure 7m in length. Its construction makes good use of fluid mechanics based actions such as the net accessory that hangs underneath and prevents oil escape.
Any length can be set by tying the two ropes passing along the length of the bolsters to their opposing loop parts and the OIL SWEEPER can be easily gathered and recovered by reeling in the rope after collecting the oil.
A solid structure that excels
in the collection and storage of oil
The bolster-type structural arrangement collects more oil in comparison to board-type plane structures and excels at oil storage.
Through establishing uniform spaces between each bolster and creating a stagnation zone before and after as shown in the figure on the right, the oil is efficiently collected and absorbed and becomes attached to the net. The quantity of oil collected is approximately 10 times the weight of the product. (Unloaded weight 10kg approximately equals 100L of oil collected)
Hanging net attached to prevent oil escape
The structure of the lower net only collects oil and allows water to pass as shown in the figure on the right. Recovery is made easy and high viscosity oil can also be collected by adhesion, preventing the escape of oil underneath.

Various operations can be easily completed by a series of actions such as deployment – absorption/adhesion – collection –recovery etc.
All oils are collected by means of absorption and adhesion including crude oil, heavy oil (A/B/C), diesel oil, lubricating oil, fish oil, animal and vegetable oil etc.
Usage and Practical Examples
Variety of Oils
Tanker oil spillages/aquaculture fisheries/outlets of water works/sewage pump stations and coastal industrial zones/outlets of thermal power stations/with floating oil in all kinds of factory sedimentation basins/with floating oil in rivers and lakes
Usage Locations
In the case of diffusion over a wide area, multiple OIL SWEEPERS can be deployed and the oil can be collected by the slow speed towing of a work vessel.
The tensile strength of the two ropes can withstand 1.5t and so oil removal duties by towing are simple. It also captures oil without sinking at towing speeds of 2 -3 Knots.
Oil Fence Functions
The bolsters can be deployed inside or outside the oil fence to collect the oil accumulated inside the fence or oil leaking through it.
Entrapment within a restricted area
This product can be coupled to make the necessary length and so can be restricted to a certain area within wide expanses.
In the case of protecting aquaculture fisheries, it can be deployed in front of the fishery in advance to prevent the harmful impact of oil.
