Installation Completed Whilst in Operation! A Lightweight, Compact and Low-Energy Flocculation Improvement Method
Patent pending
At waterworks and water treatment plants for industrial water etc., general raw water is treated in a sequence of flash mixing, slow mixing and sedimentation basin treatment. However, as the conditions of raw water are not constant, the essential effect of the coagulant is not sufficiently utilized, causing inferior flocculation. As a result, this generates various problems, such as residual aluminium or cryptosporidium and can result in a high-cost water treatment method whereby the burden of supplementary accelerated treatment is placed on the latter sections.
HIDEC and PATORESIA are technologies that facilitate optimum flocculation and hindered settling in existing facilities to resolve this problem. This water treatment environmental improvement method is based on a low-energy principle that improves inferior flocculation, elevates water quality, simplifies operation and maintenance management, as well as curbs running costs such as chemical dosing amounts simply by adding light and compact components to the process and without halting operation.
Transforming the Coagulant Dosing Method – The High Density Flocculation Method HIDEC
Optimum dosing/optimum flocculation at the initial stage reduces various burdens in the latter stages.
Points of Improvement
1. Carried out with a small chemical dose and so connected to a reduction of chemical quantities. 2. Problems such as residual aluminium etc. improved through suppressing dosing quantities. 3. The mock aggregate forms a flock in a short time. 4. The concepts of “high density, catalytic action, low dosing and short time period” have been concentrated, and complicated operating technologies are unnecessary.
This is a method whereby a small quantity of slurry dosed with coagulant is introduced into the raw water.
PointThrough pouring a mock aggregate formed in the high-density flocculation mixing tank HIDEC into the raw water, dosing quantities become fixed through contact, adhesion and swelling irrespective of changes in raw water factors, whilst increasing the contact frequency (recontacts) between the solid particles of the active flock in the small quantity of slurry and the microscopic suspended particles in the raw water.
PointThis is a non-clogging structure of inclined flaps that applies the resistance theory of fluid mechanics to create a stagnation zone in the flow by a resistive body (float flaps) in which gaps have been installed to bring about ideal precipitation conditions. This forms a hindered settling concentration and so contact frequency between particles increases, cohesive power is increased, and the sludge blanket zone of the naturally formed transverse flow causes a filtering function effect to attempt clarification. It also does not inflict a heavy load on the sedimentation basin frame.
Non-Clogging Flow Inclined Flap PATORESIA - Filtering Function Effect by Hindered Settling
Reduction of high Density Treatment Burden by Integration of HIDEC Optimum Flocculation and Precipitation Method
This is a precipitation method that attempts clarification through stabilizing and naturally forming the sludge blanket layer of the transverse flow and through particle filtering effects.
